Choosing the right Primary School for your child is a vitally important decision for every parent to make and we hope our site will help you decide if our small and friendly village school is the right choice for your family.
We are a happy and caring school where a love of learning is inspired in our children by a stimulating environment. Every child is valued and respected and encouraged to be an independent learner, and our children’s achievements are celebrated. Class sizes are small and led by a class teacher. We also have the support of teaching assistants across the school. All lessons are tailored to meet a range of abilities and learning styles and cater for any children with special educational needs or who have been identified as gifted and talented in a particular field.
Most of our pupils join the school from Reception class, the school year in which they turn 5, but we welcome children to join us at any other time.

If you do not live in Bedford Borough please complete an application form from your home Local Authority.
Early Years
If your child will be joining us from the start of their education in Early Years (Reception class -academic year in which they turn 5) you will need to contact Bedford Borough Council to complete the Local Authority admissions process, as this is only available directly from their Admissions Service. The closing date for receipt of applications academic year is usually early January (details below). Joining Us at Other Times
If you move into the area during the school year or simply wish to change your child's school, you will need to complete an ‘In-Year Application Form’ from the Bedford Borough Council website. Before completing the application form please read the ‘In-Year Admissions Guidance Notes’ which explains the arrangements for applying for a school place.
Once your place at Turvey Primary School is confirmed we will send you our ‘Welcome Pack’ which contains all the information that you will need, consent forms and contact details and so forth.
